Getting started
What is Tenon?
Tenon is a Windows app and driver package for supported Apple Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard models. It adds scrolling, built-in gestures, keyboard controls and battery status. It also shows battery levels for supported AirPods.
How do I get the beta?
Complete the beta hardware form, then use the same email address on the download page to get the installer.
Which devices and Windows versions are supported?
Tenon supports USB-C Magic devices and the Lightning Magic Mouse 2 A1657, Magic Trackpad 2 A1535 and Magic Keyboard A2450. You need Windows 11 or Windows 10 22H2, x64. Windows on ARM and 32-bit Windows are not supported. Check your exact device model before installing.
Can I use a USB cable instead of Bluetooth?
Supported Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard models can use Bluetooth or a USB data cable. Magic Mouse uses Bluetooth for input; its cable is for charging, and the mouse cannot be used while charging.
Can I pair a device from Tenon?
Yes. With Bluetooth on and Tenon open, switch on your supported device and choose Connect when Tenon offers to pair it. If no prompt appears, use Windows Bluetooth settings. Devices already paired with this PC do not need to be paired again.
How do I update from an earlier version?
Download and run the 0.1.2 installer without uninstalling first. Updating from 0.1.0 may sign you out once; sign in again and review your Pro settings. From 0.1.2 on, Tenon offers later updates inside the app.
Devices and features
Does Tenon add Magic Mouse scrolling and gestures?
Yes. On supported models, Tenon adds smooth scrolling and built-in surface gestures, including swipes for navigation. Bluetooth pairing alone does not add these features.
Which Magic Trackpad features work?
The USB-C A3120 supports multi-finger gestures, tap-to-click, scrolling and force-click. The Lightning A1535 supports Bluetooth and USB input, scrolling, clicking and dragging. Check the model-specific list for feature and battery details.
What does Tenon add to the Magic Keyboard?
Tenon adds media and function-key controls and lets you swap Command and Control on the Magic Keyboard without changing your other keyboards. Touch ID fingerprint sign-in is not supported on Windows.
Where can I see battery levels?
Magic-device battery status appears in Tenon and its tray display. Magic Mouse reports over Bluetooth. Magic Trackpad 2 A1535 and Magic Keyboard A2450 report over Bluetooth and USB. The USB-C trackpad reports over Bluetooth; wired reporting may be unavailable on some Windows setups. USB-C keyboard battery reporting is available over USB.
What does Tenon do with AirPods?
Tenon shows AirPods Pro 2 battery levels with Pro or an active trial. AirPods Max USB-C battery reporting is not supported. Tenon does not add ear-detection auto-pause, tap or stem controls, or automatic device switching.
Can I assign my own actions to gestures?
Custom gesture-to-action mappings are not supported in this beta. Use Tenon's built-in gestures.
Trial and Pro
What stays free, and what is included in Pro?
Battery and connection status for supported Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard models stay free. Pro adds scrolling and gesture controls, keyboard settings and supported AirPods battery levels. One Pro plan covers your supported Apple devices.
How does the trial work?
Tenon includes a 30-day Pro trial with no payment card or account required. After it ends, the app returns to Free unless you have an active Pro subscription.
Help
How can I check the installer?
Download it from the Tenon download page. The installer's verified publisher is SmoothGrain Studios LLC. You can also compare the file's SHA-256 with the checksum shown for that version. If the publisher or checksum does not match, do not run it; contact support.
How do I report a problem?
Select Help & report a problem in Tenon 0.1.2, use the support page, or email [email protected]. Tell us which device you have, what happened and what you expected. You do not need a diagnostics bundle to send an initial report.
